Dear Treehouse Families
Thank you for participating in our Stone Soup Celebration. All the ingredients were lovingly cooked together and served for lunch on Wednesday. Yum!
‘Tis the Season of Giving:
Treehouse participates in two different giving drives during the holiday season. Thank you for your contribution to children in need around Boulder County. There are more and more families each year that fall into this category. You can make a difference for a child this season.
Share-a-Gift
Our school will be participating in Share-a-Gift again this year. Share-a-Gift is an annual, all-volunteer toy collection and distribution holiday project encompassing the Boulder Valley Schools area. Last year over 600 households (1600 boys and girls, ages birth to 14) received these community donations. To be successful, Share-a-Gift needs thousands of high quality, new and used toys, games, books, and puzzles. School collections are the biggest source of toys for Share-a-Gift. This collection allows children to meaningfully participate in gift giving by sharing their own gently used toys with less fortunate children in Boulder county. Toys may be dropped off in the Share-a-Gift box in our school beginning the Monday after Thanksgiving, November 27th, through Wednesday, December 13th. Thanks for sharing with your community. If you would like to volunteer to help with this worthwhile project, please go to volunteers@shareagift.org
Salavation Army Angel Tree
Angel Tree is a unique holiday assistance program that connects a generous individual or group witha child (or “Angel”) in need. The Salvation Army Corps Community Centers tailor their Angel Tree Programs to meet the needs of their surrounding community and all Angel Tree gifts are collected and distributed locally. Spread the joy of caring and sharing with those who would otherwise go without. Tags are located at the front desk. Please return the unwrapped gift with the tag to Treehouse Learning before December 8th. Thank you!
Teacher Gift Policy – Giving to the Treehouse Learning Staff Appreciation Fund is easy!
Our gift policy limits the value of individual gifts to $25 maximum. We ask that whole teaching teams or the entire staff be recognized, this can amount to a large number of gifts, which can be pricey.
Our gift policy limits the value of individual gifts to $25 maximum. We ask that whole teaching teams or the entire staff be recognized, this can amount to a large number of gifts, which can be pricey.
As an alternative, consider a contribution to our Staff Appreciation Fund. This is a great way to recognize your child’s teachers. Checks are made out to Treehouse Learning – please designate the contribution by writing Staff Appreciation Fund in the memo portion of your check, cash is also accepted. At the end of the year the fund is divided equally between all staff members – including specials teachers and kitchen staff. It is an easy way to be sure no one is overlooked, without breaking the budget! However, there is No obligation! Please do what is comfortable for your family…we also love warm hugs, smiles and hand written notes!
New Snack Item – Sun Butter
We are always on the lookout for nutritious healthy snacks to offer our students in the afternoon when they get so hungry and hangry. Mary would like to offer Sun Butter on crackers or toast. Sun Butter is made from sunflower seeds, has lots of protein and contains no known allergens. It is quite tasty too! Please alert us at the front desk right away if you do not want your child to consume this snack.
