Hello Evergreen Families

This week we continued discussing communities. As the children talked about buildings and other things they see in their communities the discussion was well developed. We read stories about the people in our community as well. The first story was about a police officer; we also read stories about a librarian and construction worker. As the children gather more information about those roles it is fun to see them using this knowledge in pretend play and as they write their plan of the day.

We have also been busy this week in other areas with learning the name and sound of letter “Ll”. In math we played a game called How Many Steps Mr. Fox? This game utilizing counting aloud as well as number recognition. The discussion about having similarities and differences of our friends also continues. We do this daily with the help of our alien friend Z to support the children learning to use kind words to express themselves.
