January 19

Good afternoon Garden and Mountain families,

This week the children learned about winter mammals.  The children sang “The Bear Went over the Mountain,” “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and “If all of the Snowflakes.”  During small circle the children listened to Llama Llama Red Pajama, Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?, Who Am I? Snowy Animals, and The Itsy Bitsy Snowman.

This week the children took several stroller walks. This helped the children get some fresh air on colder days, and we spent a lot of time looking at the snow. The children also explored snow in the sensory table.

In music with Ms. Kathleen this week the children danced with scarves. They also played with shaker eggs and jingle bells and listened to winter animal sounds.

The children participated in many art activities this week. The children finger painted with shimmery paint and primary colors. Several children worked together to make a finger paint mural. The children also used “glue paint” (water and glue) with collage materials, to create stop lights.

This week we also welcomed our new teacher Lisa Ingram.  Lisa has previous experience as a infant teacher assistant, and she loves working with babies.  Welcome Ms. Lisa!

We hope you all have a wonderful week,

Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Lindsey, Ms. Stephanie, and Ms. Lisa
