Hello Garden and Mountain families,
This week the children continued to learn about the ocean. The children sang “Slippery Fish,” “Went to Sea” and “Tiny Tim.” During small circle the children listened to Underwater Life, Sea Animals, 123 in the Sea, and Five Green and Speckled Frogs.
For large motor activities this week, the children climbed through obstacle courses inside the classroom and on the playground. They also did bean bag tosses and baby yoga poses. Here is an article on the importance of movement in infancy:

In music this week the children played hand bells, shaky eggs and drums. We also sang many different songs with finger play elements, such as “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and “The More We Get Together”. Lastly the children danced and listened to Talking Hands, Talking Feet CD.
The children participated in many art activities this week. The children used pieces of tissue paper and sticky contact paper to create jellyfish suncatchers. Another sensory and art activity the children did involved using a spiky ball rolled to paint. The children also used paint sticks to color starfish.
Have a great weekend!
