Hello Birch Families!
This week in Birch, we talked about spring and all the new babies and new plants that come with it! During small circle, the children listened to the books, Welcome Spring, The Tiny Seed, Llama, Llama and the Bully Goat and Peace. The children got to explore with bingo dabbers and textured brushes at the easel. We also glued tissue paper and colored with markers!
During with music with Ms. Kathleen, we sang the song “Waking Up Is Hard To Do”, by request of the children! It is one of their new favorite songs to sing and dance to! The children also sang “The Bear Went Over The Mountain” and “Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear” with Ms. Kathleen’s bear puppet! The children got to play the tone block instrument, and talk about the different sounds that it makes!
Our morning work period included pouring sand from bucket to bucket, scooping stars with our scooper, practicing to fold the baby blankets and working with the pegs and peg board. The children really liked making tall towers this week, with the legos and the pegs! They were working really well as a team!
The children strengthened their large motor skills by kicking the balls and racing friends on the Aspen playground. We jumped leaping lily pads and crawled through the rainbow tunnel, and we climbed the climber in Birch playground! We also started our days off with yoga and animal actions!
Next week we will be talking about spring and reptiles!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Sarah and Ms. Mariah
