Hello Cedar families,

This week in the Cedar and Dogwood classes we talked about End of Year Celebrations. We talked about what celebrations we do at the end of the year like picnics, children moving to different classes, and getting ready to go on vacations. The children also learned how to clean up after we have a picnic, put trash in a bag and put the water bottles away. We also talked about how fun it is have a picnic with friends outside.  We practiced shape sorting, sweeping and we practiced folding washcloths and putting them away in the drawer. In our small group lessons this week we talked about what kind of food we eat on a picnic and some of the places we may go in the summer.

During circle time, this week we read: Hooray for Summer, The Super Sun, and Spring is Here. The children continued building their practical life skills this week by sweeping and using the hand vacuums to get crumbs up off the floor. This week in art we glued tissue paper to paper and painted with brushes. The children also had fun spraying the wall and chasing bubbles outside.

In music, this week Ms. Kathleen brought the book, Puff the Magic Dragon and we listened to it be read to us over the speaker. The children danced with scarves to a Scottish medley.  The children enjoyed dancing to “Animal Actions,” “Baby Beluga,” and “Apples and Bananas.”

Have an amazing weekend and enjoy the wonderful weather.

Ms.Jessica, Ms. Maria, Ms. Delanie, Ms. Jamie, and Ms. Karen
