Hello Birch families,
This week we talked about healthy foods and things to do for our bodies! We learned all about our bodies and how to care for them. The children practiced washing vegetables in the sensory table filled with water and soap. We talked about keeping our bodies healthy with fruits and vegetables but not junk food. We talked about what qualifies as healthy and what doesn’t. The children practiced exercise outside by running like different animals and characters, catching giant bubbles, and by doing obstacle courses around the playground.
In art, the children tore up green tissue paper and glued it to a circle shape to act as a salad. The children worked on stacking cups in the correct size order, matching colors, using peg boards, and completing different puzzles. We also talked about shapes.
In music class with Ms. Kathleen we listened to animal sounds and bounced to a jumping song. The children also played jingle bells to a song called “Trot Trot” and galloped like horses to a horse song.
Have a wonderful and warm weekend!
Ms. Sloan and Ms. Delani
