Hello Aspen Families!
This week we talked about needs vs. wants when it comes to keeping our bodies healthy. During circle, the children came up with some foods that are healthy for their bodies like fruits, vegetables, meat and fish (proteins), milk and water. The children also came up with foods that are unhealthy in large amounts like cake, ice cream, and donuts. The children enjoyed sorting various foods out on the My Plate board, making food graphs of their favorite foods, and trying to drink their whole bottle of water throughout the day!
In circle we read stories Going to the Farmers Market, My First World Book of Food, My First Reference Book of Food, and Rah Rah Radish. The children also explored new work materials like sand pouring and scooping as well as letter sorting. The children also went on a numeral hunt this week.
In music the children continued working on their Love and Light songs, listened to Frosty the Snowman, and sang finger plays. In P.E. the children continued working on their balance with both balance beam and yoga poses. The children continued working on jumping with one foot and both feet.
Next week we will be talking about giving. Have a great weekend!
