This Month in Spanish.  We are following the “in other words” curriculum, which includes a CD of songs, games and movement, and some coloring activities. 

We start the year reviewing our conversational greetings:

Hola-Hello     Como estas? How are you?      Adios-goodbye

Muy bien gracias. Very good, thank you.     Y tu / Y Usted-And you? 

Muy mal-Very Bad    Mas o menos-so-so     Fantastico-fantastic

Buenos Dias-Good morning      Buenas tardes-Good afternoon      Buenas noches-Good night

Como te llamas? What’s your name?    me llamo_  my name is____

Cuantos anos tienes? How old are you?      Tengo tres anos -I’m three years old.

I also introduce some action verbs:

Escuchar-Listen    Sientense-Sit down    Caminar-Walk

Vamos a cantar- Let’s sing     Repita-repeat      Silencio-quiet

Mirar-Look      Brincar-Jump      Parense-Stand up

One of the first topics we are learning is counting.  Numeros

uno – one       dos  – two          tres  – three           cuatro – four                                        

cinco  – five       seis – six        siete – seven        ocho – eight

nueve – nine       diez – ten

Las horas: (the hours) to reinforce counting

A la una, una, una At one, one, one Sale la luna, luna, luna  Comes the moon, moon, moon

A las dos, dos, dos At two, two, two  Sale el sol, sol, sol Comes the sun, sun, sun

A las tres, tres, tres At three, three, three  Sale el rey, rey, rey, Comes the king, king, king
