Dear Evergreen Families,
This week in the classroom the children got to get their hands messy with pumpkin pulp!
In small groups the children helped the teachers scoop pulp and seeds and with pumpkin carving. The group learned about the different parts of the pumpkin as well. The children in each group got to choose what kind of face they want to carve on the pumpkin.
In graphic writing the children worked on making donuts and bagels. 0 O Then moved on to making “fish bones” which are made by making a line down and three lines across. You might notice your children trying it at home.
As a new math activity, we introduced math hopscotch. The teacher sets out large numbers in a line and asks the children to jump from number to number. Then we mix it up by asking each child to jump to a particular number, not necessarily in rote order. Movement and learning combined! Always a win.
Ms. Beth Epley also came to share music and stories to the big room.
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!
