January 31

Dear Aspen families,

This week in the Aspen class, we have continued learning about our amazing bodies. Have you noticed how much your children can do at this age?  At this point in the school year, the children are finding their placemats for snack and lunch independently.  After they set up their placemat and plate on the table for morning snack, the children can serve themselves.  An example of this may be scooping one cup of cereal, taking two slices of apples and one piece of cheese.

The children enjoyed many art activities this week.  They especially enjoyed using watercolors on a giant piece of butcher paper.  Some of the children painted their hands and then made handprints on the paper.  The children also painted on bubble wrap, a very different texture.  They enjoyed seeing the designs that the bubble wrap created when making a print on the paper.

In small groups, the children matched letters of their name.  They also worked on a math activity called “Button Drop.”

During music with Ms. Amelia, the children danced while she played the ukelele and used a parachute.

We hope you have a great weekend!

Ms. Randi, Ms. Delani, and Ms. Allie
